Work is on in respect of the following projects:- (i) NAVODHAYA. A handbook for retired officers and NOK is nearing completion. (ii) HELLO VETERANS 2009. Work on the revised edition of our directory is in progress. 27. Future meetings . Dates of future meetings were given out as follows:- (i) Aug 2008 - 31 Aug 2008 (ii) Oct 2008 - 05 Oct 2008 (iii) Jan 2009 - Picnic - 11 Jan 2009 (iv) Mar 2009 - 15 Mar 2009 Treasurer’s Report 28. The Treasurer commenced his report by remarking that the audited accts of our Association for the year 2008-2009 had already been circulated along with the Notice for the AGM. He briefly explained the accounts and gave out details of increase under each fund. He then gave out the budget for the ensuing year. Since there were no observations the accounts were passed. Also, the General body agreed for the auditor to continue for one more year and approved his remuneration. Points from Members 29. Brig VA Subramanyam raised a point regarding an outstanding point of the previous year when an expenditure was not suitably explained. The same was clarified. 30. Brig VA Subramanyam raised another point whereby he wanted the luncheon meetings instead of dinner meetings since elderly members found it difficult to drive home at night. The point was discussed and put to vote. Members voted in favour of continuing the present system. 31. Wg Cdr Ravi Mani, Wg Cdr R Balachandran and Capt H Balakrishnan, IN made forceful pleas that AFVOA should involve itself in issue based public activities. After a discussion the President opined that it was best left for individual members to act as per their conscience and that the AFVOA may not take such stands since ours is basically a social organization to meet and care for the welfare of its members. 32. Col TN Raman proposed that shifting the meeting venue to the Gymkhana Club could be considered. The proposal did not find favour among the members. Felicitations 33. Col RI Subramanian, Mrs. Usha Subramanian, Col N Viswanathan and Col A Krishnaswamy, VrC, VSM** were felicitated for their extraordinary service to the Association during the year. Address by the Patron 34. In his address the Patron congratulated the Committee for the good work done during the year. Since this was not an election year he invited the Committee Members to continue for
