EXSOA Committee Meeting A meeting of the EXSOA committee chaired by the Patron Lt Gen Sundara Rao deliberated on the following agenda points: (a) Should the EXSOA be registered as a society? (b) Should the name be changed? If so what should it be? The older members of the youngest service will be thrilled to know her as the daughter of the late Wing Commander KK “Jumbo” Majumdar, DSO, DFC & Bar, a much-loved ace pilot of the RIAF, who died at Lahore in 1944 as a result of a crash during an air display. “Jumbo” would have become the first Indian Chief of the Air Staff had he survived. He was widely admired for his leadership. The AFA honours RIAF/IAF veterans who have recently become octogenarians-should any AFVOA member know of one such, kindly inform the AFA immediately.
