The anniversary cake also was cut and distributed to all the participants. All Faith Memorial Service -14 Sep 2011 On an invitation from the Navy Foundation, some of our members including the Patron and the President attended the solemn ceremony, conducted at Ethiraj College. Wreaths were laid by Patron and President on behalf of AFVOA, in honour of our martyrs. Meeting on 05 Nov 2011 Due to some restrictions and constraints faced by the HQ ATNK Area, the usual venue of Palm Institute had to be changed. In addition, as per the policy, Sunday was to be observed as closed holiday for all ranks. However, the GOC suggested an alternative venue, the Sainik Institute, where we are assembled today. Your Managing Committee took a deliberate decision to try out the new venue and also holding the Meeting during the day time, from 1030 hrs onwards, culminating with lunch. A lecture cum discussion on the functioning of ECHS was also held. This was addressed by Col Murali Krishna the Regional Director, and his team. All members felt it was a fruitful discussion. The lunch was hosted by Col & Mrs A Krishnaswami, to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Family Day at Sea - 07 Dec 2011 The Navy had sent out an invitation to our Association requesting our members with their families to take part in their event, “Family Day at Sea”. 50 invitations were allotted to us and the list was prepared on the basis of “first come first served”. Our Navy Member, Cdr R Prasad did all the liaison work including the reception at the MES IB. The administrative arrangements, including security clearance were handled in a professional way, causing least inconvenience to the members. Vijay Diwas - 16 Dec 2011 . Our Secretary took special interest in motivating the GOC Area, for the conduct of this event, at the War Memorial, as was being done during the past three years. The GOC took the suggestion positively. Our Patron, Gen Sundara Rao, laid the wreath on behalf of all Veterans. I laid the wreath on behalf of AFVOA. More than 60 Veterans attended the ceremony. HQ Area laid out high tea in the MES IB for all the Veterans who attended the ceremony. A Day with Air Warriors - 05 Feb 2012 Your Managing Committee decided to have a change from the routine picnic in January every year. We took up the invitation of the Station Cdr, AF Tambaram to spend a day with them, at their Station. The Station Cdr and his SOs had ensured that our members
