Our members from AF, Gp Capt V Palanisamy, Sqn Ldr Unni, Mrs Lalitha Mohandas and others took special interest in livening up the atmosphere. It was a great show. Interactive Session with ECHS-18 Mar 2012 On 18 Mar 2012, on the initiative of our Secretary, an interactive session with the OC ECHS Poly Clinic, Nandambakkam was organized at the Poly Clinic. The withdrawal of SRMC from the list of empanelled Hospitals had caused a lot of worry amongst the Veterans community of Chennai. Our President took special interest by interacting with the concerned authorities to find a possible solution. The OC Poly Clinic, Col Dorai Raj, assured of more user friendly measures and availability of the medicines to the patients. The meeting was attended by our President and 15 members of the AFVOA. Renewal of Registration of Our Association. The renewal of registration of our association was delayed due to various reasons. However, the same has been done and in future this activity will be carried out, immediately after the AGM. POP at OTA . The POP was held at OTA on 17 Mar 2012. OTA informed that due to security reasons, the invitations would be issued only to individuals and not in bulk. However, on liaison by our Secretary, they earmarked 50 invitations to AFVOA. Many members availed this opportunity. Meeting -14 April 2012 The regular meeting was held. The spontaneous goodwill of our members came to light when approx Rs 60,000/- was contributed to the family of Maharaj, our caterer, who lost his young son in an accident. Cocktails at Officers Mess of Area HQ - 05 May 2012 The GOC had extended invitation to the Army Veterans in station for Cocktails, in the Area HQ Officers Mess on 05 May 2012. . Despite some unethical mails from one of our members to boycott the event, more than 60 members and their spouses attended the party. The party was well conducted with the usual warmth and bonhomie which is the hall mark of such parties. The GOC and his officers went all out to ensure that every guest was well looked after. Conclusion. Dear members, the present team has been performing their tasks with interest and enthusiasm. I would also like to mention that some Veterans have consistently rendered assistance in the execution of our tasks.
