MATTERS MILITARY There has been a very unfortunate death of a young boy in the military area of the station. A lot of mud was thrown all around, and the prestige of the Armed Forces has suffered. We as veterans can play a role to assuage the hurt feelings by our conduct and exhibiting sympathy and offer our solace to calm the agitated minds of the people. It is a one-time aberration and as per the law, due action would be taken without delay. We should refrain from passing any comment that could convey insensitivity or lack of compassion. HQ ATNK81K Area have intimated that, in order to provide complete rest and recreation to the troops, in future it will not be able to provide the administrative support for our meetings on Sundays. We are required to select any other day of the week to hold our meeting. This magnanimous offer is indeed very gracious. We should respect the decision as it is a welfare measure for our troops and as responsible veterans, select an alternative day of the week. Kindly intimate your views either in person or by tele/E Mail to any one of the volunteers, mentioned in the above paragraph. “Wealth is not his that has it, but his that enjoys it.” ~ Benjamin Franklin AG’s Branch of the Army HQ, has brought out the inaugural issue No2011/1 of “THE VETERAN”, a Newsletter for the veterans.
