We were also very happy and honoured to have the Officiating GOC Maj Gen Nitin Kohli joining us on a very important day. 2. The Meeting commenced with Tambola of which two houses were played. In the first house the top line of Rs. 50/- was shared by Mrs. Chattaraman and Col Yesobian. The center line of Rs. 50/- was won by Santhosh Mishra and the bottom line of the same amount was taken by Mrs. Renuka Chandrasekhar. Full house of Rs. 200/- was won by Col Parameshwaran and the second full house of 100/- went to Mrs. Sathyamoorthy. 3. In the second house Col Venugopal was the jonah for Rs. 100/- and the jaldi five went to Mrs James. The king’s and queen’s comers of Rs. 100/- each went to four each while Col KS Raja carried away the first house of Rs. 500/- and Brig Miss Durga Bai won the second full house of Rs. 200/-. Snowball went rolling. 4. Mrs Lalitha Mohandas, Mrs Usha Sundar and Brig VA Subramaniam were thanked for conducting the game. 5. Maj T M Krishnan, who passed away on 02 Nov 2009 and Maj Gen K A S Raja who passed away on 03 Nov 2009 were remembered during the Obituaries and all present rose to maintain a minute’s silence in their memory. 6. The Secretary began with an invocation from NAALADIYAR and gave a brief of how the meeting would unfold. 7. Col RSK Thathachari, (EME), 83 yrs joined the Association and was also honoured as an octogenarian. 8. The President in his address welcomed all present. He stated that the Welfare Transport vehicle has been handed over to the Area HQ. He also stated that the AFVOA office at the old MH complex has been made functional and that the computer would soon be installed. 9. Our Raising Day was commemorated and the cake was cut by Brig Miss Durga Bai our oldest lady member. 10. Col A Krishnaswamy, VrC, VSM** gave an interesting talk covering the evolution of telephone directories of our Association and went on to mention interesting snippets and glitches encountered during the collection of data and production of Hello Veterans – 2009 which was ready to be released. 11. Hello Veterans – 2009, our directory was released by Lt Gen C Sundara Rao, PVSM, Patron AFVOA and the first copy was presented to Maj Gen Nitin Kohli, Offg GOC ATNK&K Area. 12. The Patron conveyed his appreciation to the team of indomitable veterans who had produced the directory. He counselled that younger veterans should come forward to shoulder more responsibilities. 13. The Officiating GOC during his address conveyed his pleasure at seeing this very well run Association doing good work. He assured all that he would extend all cooperation to the AFVOA. He mentioned that matters concerning the Army Officers’ Institute and old age home would be moved forward. 14. Col N Viswanathan and Lt Col R Subramaniam helped out in the distribution of free copies to the members.
