Our fervent desire is that our members make concerted efforts and pave way for this noble task through personal contacts and publicity with other brethren officers who are non members. We are proud that Lt Gen S Pattabhiraman, PVSM,AVSM,SM,VSM, Ex Vice Chief of the Army Staff, a senior Veteran Officer of the AFVOA, is appointed as the Member of the Armed Forces Tribunal (AFT), Chennai. Justice and speed in settling pending cases in respect of the Armed Forces Personnel can be expected in future. We assure AFVOA Services to the General Officer in the AFT Tasks, if need arises. Release of the ‘Hello Veterans, 2009 ‘in Nov 09 meeting is a land mark achievement and we wholeheartedly congratulate the ‘active and behind the seen’ Veterans of the Publication Committee for this unique achievement. We shall look forward for constructive suggestions for the improvement of our future ‘Hello Veterans’ Publications. It will be our endeavour to publicise existence of the AFVOA by making Hello Veterans,2009,available as complimentary gift to selected persons and organizations of significance. We expect, at every level, through our participation and social interactions with important Dignitories, both with Defence Services and Civil Establishments, our ‘visibility’ as Veterans should be demonstrated. In this respect we should take lead to organise/ participate in celebrations/remembrance of Independence Day, Republic Day, Army, Navy and Air Force Days, Vijay Diwas, Armistice Day, Raising Days of Corps and Regiments and other events of interest. We are very thankful to the General Officer/ Senior officers of the three Defence Services HQs, their Station Units and the Serving Fraternity in extending to the AFVOA every assistance needed. We look forward for stronger and more intimate connections with them in the years to follow. We wish all AFVOA Members, their families and other Veteran Officers and families a very Healthy, Prosperous and Happy New Year, 2010.
