Almost every great Regiment of the Indian Army has been formed around a unit of the Old Madras Army as its embryo. Between the period 1644, when the French attacked Fort St George, and the Burma Wars of 1890 the Peninsular South Indian region had ovulated profusely. The foundations of every organization found in India today were laid here, be it in land survey, civil administration or in building of roads, railways, hospitals, schools, colleges and theatres. It was here that the seeds took root and grew. It was from here that they were carried for plantation in the rest of the country. 2. The time has come now for us to once again ideate about what we want for the future. As we sit forming pink-bubbles of dream-organizations that we wish to create we come up with a wish list.
