Page 7 of 68 23. Tambola Bumper House . Mrs Lalitha Mohandas conducted the Bumper House of Tambola, assisted by Brig VA Subramanyam and Mrs. Vatsala Subramanian. The prizes were won by: Brig (Miss) Durga Bai – Jaldi five, Mrs. Srividya Parthasarathy – Jonah, Mrs. Raghavan, Mrs. Prasanna, Mrs. Lakshmi Viswesvaran and Mrs. Shanmugam won all the three lines. The first house was won jointly by Mrs. Rajmohan and Brig (Miss) Durga Bai with the Second house going to Mrs. Anita Radhakrishnan. Air Mshl Raghavan and Mrs. Sundar won the Dog house. 24. Lucky Dip. As all the games had drawn to a close, the Secretary announced that it was time for the Lucky Dip. Brig & Mrs. NB Subramanian conducted the lucky dip by asking the youngest child present in the gathering to pick out the lucky numbers. The first lucky number picked belonged to Mrs. Mrs Elina James, and the second was that of Lt Col S J Bhaskar Rao. 25. Special Gifts for children. Gift packets were handed over to ten children, who were not only a bundle of joy unto themselves ; but also added colour and happiness to the picnic as a whole. 26. Prize Distribution. The Prize distribution was conducted by Brig & Mrs NB Subramanian. Mrs. Sudha Raghavan, w/o Air Mshl S Raghavan, PVSM, AVSM, VSM kindly consented to give away the prizes. Mrs. Vatsala Subramanian who had taken pains to organize the prizes, lent a helping hand in handing over the prizes to Mrs. Sudha Raghavan to do the honours. Prizes were given to all the prize winners and those who conducted the various games and Tambola. 27. Vote of Thanks. The Secretary thanked the family members of Major (Dr) George Thomas for allotting the venue for our picnic and their staff present there for all the physical help rendered to the organizing committee. He also thanked the GOC, ATNK&K Area, the Staff, OsC Sig Coy and Civ GT Pl for their unstinted support without which the picnic may not have been a success. He finally thanked all the members present for their overwhelming response to join in the picnic and taking active part in all the activities, those members who conducted various games & tambola and Shri Naresh Maharaj for the tasty food provided. 28. Tea, ‘Tamboola Pai’ and Departure. Finally the Secretary announced that the tea was ready and members should collect their ‘Tamboola Pai’ before leaving the venue. Col Samuel Raj ensured that all the members present collected their ‘Tamboola Pai’. The members and families boarded the buses which left the picnic area at about 1700 hrs and reached the Youth Hostel at about 1745 hrs. The annual picnic on the whole turned out to be an interesting outing for all the members who enjoyed it thoroughly. “Self – delusion is pulling in your stomach when you step on the scale.” - Paul Sweeny Matters Military 29. Republic Day Awards .
