The tested aspect was their presence of mind. Ladies proved themselves a shade better by winning the game. Mrs.Chitkala Govindaswamy was adjudged first, Mrs. Sudha Raghavan second and the third position went to Mrs. Lalitha Mohandas. 16. It was the Selayur group which stole the limelight by conducting all the three outdoor games. Most of the members having participated in all the three outdoor games felt tired and thirsty and demanded the bar to be opened at 1130 hrs instead of the scheduled 1200 hrs - the management promptly acceded to their request. The rush at the bar was heavy but was brilliantly managed by Cdr SR Prasad. 17. The Secretary requested the participants to move into the auditorium for the remaining items. Before starting the indoor games, he made a few announcements llike payment of annual subscriptions, furnishing e-mail IDs, MDS, etc and proceeded with the routine items. 18. Respects to the departed. Members of AFVOA and their families deeply mourned the demise of the following and prayed for their souls to rest in peace:- (a) Capt KR Rao - 07 Dec 2006. (b) Mrs. Namagiri Seshadri, w/o Brig MN Seshadri, AOC - 14 Dec 2006. 19. Indoor Games. The first indoor game called “Places in Pictures” conducted by Maj Gen and Mrs. Govindaswamy turned out to be very interesting, the theme being identifying places of interest from the coloured pictures given. The first prize was won by the group headed by Mrs. Usha Sundar and the second by the group led by Mrs. Usha Subramanian. 20. Col & Mrs. RI Subramanian conducted the second indoor game called “Car Quiz” wherein the participants had to identify names of cars from jumbled words. It was fun watching the participants guessing the names of cars which never existed on earth ever. The first prize was won by the group headed by Mrs. Pramila Rajan and the second prize went to the group headed by Mrs. Chitkala Govindaswamy, 21. Special Invitees. In response to our invitation, Major (Dr) & Mrs. George Thomas, their son, Mr. Thomas George and Miss. Rebecca Thomas, their grand daughter arrived bang on time. The guests were welcomed by Maj Gen C Govindaswamy. As a token of our regard, respects and gratitude towards the magnanimity of the Georges’ family Mrs. Sundara Rao handed over a souvenir to Major George Thomas on behalf of all the members of AFVOA and their families. Mr. Thomas George, in his speech, said that a number of organizations use Camp Gloria but none had invited them before. He thanked one and all for the gesture and assured that this relationship would continue. He also thanked all the members for their gesture of presenting a souvenir to them. By then it was 1 PM and lunch was announced. The menu was a lavish and delicious spread relished by everyone - thanks to our ‘Annadhatha’, Sri Naresh Maharaj and Sons. 22. Tambola Game No.1. The first game of Tambola was conducted by Brig VA Subramanyam, assisted by Mrs.Vatsala Subramanian and Mrs. Lalitha Mohandas. Prizes were won by: Col R Gopal – Top line, Mrs. Kumuda Ranganathan – Centre line, Mrs. Sridevi Parthasarathy – Bottom line, Mrs. Ratna Reddy – First house and Col R Gopal – Second house.
