Reproduced below is a communication received from The Kilpauk Resident’s Welfare Association on Major General Aban Naidu’s note to the Association. A happy Note from Kilpauk Ratna General Aban Naidu, PVSM, AVSM, M-in-D WATER – WATER – WATER THE ELIXIR OF LIFE 1. In the winter months, Chennai bubbles with activities, such as Music festival, Cultural and Dance Programmes, Theatrical Plays, Christmas, New Year and Republic Day Celebrations, the Teenage Discos and so on. 2. This year, however, a welcome event was the visit of Sri. Sathya Sai Baba to Chennai after a lapse of nearly a decade. This elated the citizens, devotees, the Government & Non Government Organisations, Sri. Sathya Sai Central Trust, the Chennai Citizens Conclave and a multitude of people. All this exuberating joy and gratefulness because Sri Sathya Sai Baba, at his own initiative took it upon himself to bring water from Andhra Pradesh to water-starved Chennai. This was manifestation of Baba’s compassion and his great affection for the people of Tamil Nadu. He however wondered why people have to be subjected to stress and lack of water for so many years, when people of Chennai, known for their wealth and richness could not get together and collectively organize the process of bringing water. He said wealth and richness must be shared for useful purposes and not be kept to one’s self. In the end no one is able to take this wealth along, at the journey’s end. “Love all – Serve all”, he said.
