The bi monthly meeting, originally scheduled for 08 Oct 2006 was postponed to 14 Oct 2006 as 08 Oct 2006 happened to be the Air Force Day. The meeting began with the first game of Tambola. A number of prizes were announced and the prize winners of the first house were Gp Capt Mohan Das, Mrs Mary Lakshmanan, Mrs. Raghavan, Air Mshl Raghavan, Mrs Nirmala Viswanathan, Mrs Brown and Mrs Usha Reddy. Following the first house of Tambola were the Secretary’s routine items starting with introduction of new members. 11. Introduction of New Members. Announcements. The following announcements were made:- (a) Lec to NCC Cadets. The Secretary stated that consequent to a meeting with Cmde UN Chitnavis, DDG, NCC a good number of volunteers had come forward to deliver awareness talks to NCC Cadets in their camp locations. He further added that a beginning had already been made with Gp Capt V Palanisamy & Wg Cdr J Ramani addressing the Air Wing Cadets at AFS Tambaram, followed by Maj Gen C Govindaswamy & Col A Krishnaswami, VrC, VSM** at Kancheepuram and Col A Krishnaswami, VrC, VSM** & Col N Viswanathan at Salem. He said that members who wish to volunteer for such talks may give their names to him. (b) Visit to ‘Nimmadhi’ War Widows Old age Home.
