The Secretary stated that he had received a copy of the SOP on ADLR and that he would be publishing the details of the same in the next issue of Newsletter for the information of all Members. (d) Annual Picnic. While mentioning about the Annual Picnic, the Secretary said that it is likely to be conducted during the month of Dec 2006 details of which would be published in the next issue of Newsletter. (e) Subscriptions, MDS and E-mail IDs. Members were requested to pay their subscriptions for the current year, hand over their MDS and also furnish their E-mail IDs for better and faster communication. (f) Updates on ECHS. Some of the updates on ECHS received from Director, ECHS Regional Centre, Chennai were read out for the information of the Members. The Secretary stated that Col Nitin Kumar, Director and Col Behara, AMC, both from ECHS Regional Centre present in the audience would clarify doubts if any from the members during the interaction time. 14. Interaction time. At the request of many members half an hour of interaction time was catered for exclusively for the members and families to interact with each other. Sqn Ldr SK Unni was kind enough to provide some scintillating old time favourites from Tamil Cinema. Many of the members joined him in singing. A number of our members met Col Nitin Kumar and Col Behara and sought clarifications on various issues regarding the ECHS. 15. Bumper House Tambola. The second house of Tambola commenced immediately after the interaction time. Our guest speaker, Mrs. Susheela Rajendran accompanied by Mrs. Bama Natarajan who had arrived by then also joined in playing the game. It was prizes galore as it was a bumper house and needless to say the response from all the members was overwhelming. The prize winners were, Mrs Nirmala Raghavan, Lt Col Raj Mohan, Lt KA Rajagopalan, IPS, Mrs SK Robertson, Gp Capt Mohan Das, Mrs. Chitra Subramanian, Lt Col V Chinniah, Mrs Venugopal, Mrs James and Mrs Achuthan. 16. President’s Address. Maj Gen R Karthikeyan said that members of AFVOA would be kept very busy during the months of Jan and Feb 2007 as we would be having the Annual picnic and a Day out at Sea, courtesy the Coast Guard. He said that details were being worked out for both the events and members would be given adequate notice regarding these events. He requested all members to cooperate and make the events successful and memorable. The President also thanked all those volunteers who had delivered awareness talks to the NCC Cadets and requested the members for more volunteers to come forward for this important activity. 17. The President then welcomed Mrs. Susheela Rajendran, Founder President of the War Widows Welfare Association, Chennai who had come to talk to the Veterans.
