Promotions . (a) Lt Gen OP Nandrajog has taken over as GOC-in-C, Central Command vice Lt Gen R Subramanian, PVSM retired from service on 31 Dec 2005 (b) Lt Gen Anup Singh Jamwal, AVSM, VSM (erstwhile GOC, ATNK&K Area) has taken over as the Adjutant General, Army HQ. The General Officer has been awarded PVSM during the Republic Day this year. (c) Maj Gen Jasbir Singh Lidder, ADGMO, Army HQ has been promoted to the rank of Lt Gen and posted as the new Force Commander of the UN Peace keeping Mission in Sudan (UNMIS). (d) Inspector General Rajendar Singh, TM, has taken over as Com CG (East) on 31 Oct 2005 vice Cmde UN Chitnavis, posted out. 45. Veterans on “Hello Ungaludan” . Doordarshan ‘Podhigai’ channel had telecast live “Hello Ungaludan”, an interactive session, from 1230 hrs to 1315 hrs on 28 Jan 2006. The particiapants were AVM (Retd) V Krishnaswamy, VSM, Commodore (Retd) KV Gopal Rao, MVC and Col (Retd) A Krishnaswami, VrC, VSM**. The Anchor of the programme interviewed all three of them on their service and memorable events during their active service. Also, there were a number of individuals from various parts of the State shooting questions on recruitment, service, abilities, war experiences, future of Armed Forces, etc. All three of our members answered all the questions from the public with spontaneity and ease, satisfying the callers. The Anchor at one point of time, impressed with the medals worn by Col A Krishnaswami, asked him to explain details regarding each one of them. Col A Krishnaswami gave a lucid explanation of each and every star & medal worn by him. While talking to the callers over the phone, a number of them expressed their desire to send their children to the Armed Forces and requested for more details regarding recruitment. All such parents were advised to get in touch with the nearest recruiting office as well as to look for advertisements in newspapers. 46. Demise Grant to NOK of Retired Personnel Below Officer Rank (PBOR) . Army HQ, Adjutant General’s Branch vide their case file No B/46813/AG/ACWF/Accounts Sec/31 have intimated that demise grant to the next of kin of retired PBOR from Army Central Welfare Fund (ACWF).The Record Offices of various Regts and Corps have been issued instructions in this regard. (a) Rs. 3,000/- (Rupees Three thousands only) each to NOK of retired PBOR as demise grant will be paid with effect from 01 Apr 2004. Similar amount will be paid to PBOR invalidated out of service in medical category EEE (Other than battle casualties) (b) Rs. 3,000/- (Rupees Three thousand only) each to NOK of PBOR declared
