Hear ye! 9. Col AK made a fervent plea for all of to get off our cushions and get cracking in the long pending matter of completing and submitting the bio data sheets of the AFVOA. The point that is stressed here is that while these sheets are a nuisance to fill up (now where is that darned pen?), as also to post to Brig VAS, they do not immediately get filed in “Trash” at Brig VAS’s and get forgotten. They are meant, no doubt, to maintain records of members in a formal sense, but beyond that, they have been the source of information that in an unfortunate eventuality or in an emergency helps us to help the officer or his/her family. So, it is in our own interest that we get off our collective seats and shake a leg, as they say. 10. Lt Col GB Radhakrishnan, ENGRS, who resides at D-1/109, AWHO, and can be contacted at telephone 2372 1127 is running a financial services company called Peninsular Finance Co, providing services related to capital and equity markets, DEMAT, portfolio management etc. He welcomes queries from members and families and offers any related assistance. AVM V Krishnaswamy recalled with warmth and happiness the camaraderie and cheer displayed by the AFVOA fraternity and their families (9 years to 82) at the Annual Picnic at the Camp Gloria venue. He pointed out that he himself felt enlivened by the strong bonds that define the AFVOA, witnessed, among other things, by acts such as that of Brig VA Narayanan, AMC, who had just written him and the AFVOA a letter mentioning that even though the Brigadier was relocating to Ernakulam to take on a new assignment, he would continue as a member of the AFVOA, and would try his best to time his visits to Chennai so as to be a part of our meetings and the picnics. The AVM also informed the gathering that, as per a letter from Col CR Sundar, the TN Government had taken a decision that wives of Service Officers who were in TN Government Service W ould be considered for a posting of their choice for specific reasons as applicable to a particular case. The AVM mentioned that recently a few hospitals in Chennai had been empanelled under the ECHS. He mentioned that the revision of the AFVOA telephone directory was complete but that we were stalled for want of funds to print the required copies. The advertisements paid for till now had brought in only Rs 20,000/-. The shortfall could be made up by each member contributing liberally for this project.
