The younger veterans would be happy to note that with effect 01 April 2003, the age limit for obtaining concession for a male senior citizen has been reduced from 65 years to 60 years. This is at par with female senior citizens. Free Railway Concessions for gallantry Award Winners: 20. Recipients of the six gallantry award winners viz PVC, MVC, VrC, AND AC, KC, AND SC were entitled to travel by First Class/AC 2-tier along with a companion and were issued with a complimentary card pass by the Railway Headquarters. These passes were not valid for travel for journeys in Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains. 21. Ministry of Railways have now decided that First Class/AC 2 tier complimentary card passes will be issued to PVC, MVC AND VrC awardees, who would be eligible to travel in AC 2-tier/AC 3-tier of Rajdhani and Chair Car of Shatabdi/Jan Shatabdi trains along with a companion in the same class. The award winners of AC, KC and SC have not been included in the sanction letter. 22. A new format of the complimentary Card pass is under print. Till such time the new format card passes are available, the existing card passes will be “rubber stamped” to make it valid for the new dispensation. On completion of drawing pension for 15 years, it is best that the officer approaches the Bank from where he is drawing pension. The Bank will restore that portion taken out for commutation not after 15 years of retirement of the officer, but 15 years after the date of credit of the amount of commutation to the officer.
