LAKSHMI News from Idhar Udhar Improvement in AGIF Medical Benefit Scheme AGIF Medical Benefit Schema ((MBS) which provides financial assistance for high cost life saving surgery/treatment to members and their spouses has been further improved with effect from 22 nd November 1999. Two more diseases have been added to the list of treatments covered under AGI MBS taking the total number of diseases covered to ten. The additional diseases and the maximum monetary limits for each are:  Retinal Detachment Surgery. A maximum of Rs 20,000,00 (Rupees Twenty thousand only) would be payable to those members who get the treatment done after 22 Nov 1999. Only the following procedures will be eligible for the benefit – Scleral Buckle Procedure; Vitrectomy; and pneumatic Retinopexy.  Artificial Limbs. Applicable to those MBS AGI members who lose limbs after 22 Nov 1999. The details of benefits are: Lower Limbs Maximum Recommended Amount (depending on type of prosthesis used)
