AFVOA Newsletter May 2020

Section 1-Messages Newsletter No. 1 / 2020 P a g e 8 | 101 Message from the President AFVOA Chennai Vanakkam Dear Friends, On behalf of the Management Committee, I trust this Newsletter finds you in good spirits during this life changing Lockdown Experience . Many predict that life will not be the same again. Nevertheless, we are determined to continue the tradition of publishing Newsletters. We are overwhelmed with the stupendous enthusiasm and encouragement in the past fortnight. So here goes our very first one for 2020. This edition is a pioneer in changing over to an e-BOOK format replacing the printed version of the past. Read the Newsletter, wherever or whenever on your Desktop, Laptop, Tablet or your Smart Phone. There have been requests to circulate a hard copy as well. The suggestion is well taken. However, I request you to peruse through the e-BOOK description page to realise the incredible capacity that it offers the reader to enjoy reading the Newsletter. The Newsletter is printer friendly so go ahead and print at home or request your comrade to do it for you at the nearest service provider. Our respectful view is that the effort required to format, print, post do not justify the endeavor. Last but not the least it will be AFVOAs small contribution in protecting our Planet; shown to us by this invisible virus. The e-BOOK would have saved 25000 sheets or 50 reams of paper. We are diversifying our activities that began with the immensely popular Sargam Choir followed by visit to Chennai Metro. Our visit to the L&T Shipbuilding Yard at Kattupalli was scuttled by Corona. This will be rescheduled at a suitable time. Your gesture to retain the subscription is appreciated. Outings to ICF Perambur, witness a Satellite Launch at Sriharikota (2-hour journey) etc are on the anvil. A morning filled with old Hindi Songs that take us back to our youthful days is planned. Suggestions on varied activities are invited.
