A DAY AT SEA As a part of the “Navy Day “celebrations, the NOIC Chennai, was gracious to invite the Veteran families of the AFVOA, to join the function and demos at sea on board INS AIRAVAT on 07 Dec2011 Accordingly,50veterans,including family members ,who were selected out of the volunteers on a first come first served basis, joined the cruise. We thank the NOIC and his team, for the warm hospitality extended to the AFVOA families. A DAY WITH AIR WARRIORS We have planned to hold the next meeting of the AFVOA, at the Air Force Station – Tambaram, on Sunday 05 February2012. Our Sister Service the AIR FORCE, has graciously consented to permit us hold our get together meeting in their location and also treat it as “A Day with Air Warriors” We will be conducted around the important areas in the air station that will give us an insight of the role played by the Service in general and at the Air Base in particular. It would be interesting and educative. Members are requested to avail of this opportunity to understand the important role played by our HAWKS in the air to protect our sovereignty. Programme of the visit (a) RV and Assembling time: Officers and members of their families, who wish to travel by the AF Buses are requested to assemble at the ECHS Poly-Clinic, in the New MH complex, at 7.30 AM. on 05 Feb2012.The buses, will be departing for the AF Station Tambram at 8 AM. Col N. Viswanathan, will coordinate. (b) Programme: 8.30 to 9.30 am : Breakfast at the Air force Officers Mess under arrangement of AFVOA 10.00 am to 12 .30 pm: Guided tour of Air force Station, to incl static display of some Aircraft and equipment and a visit to Deer Park 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm : Lunch at the Officers Mess by AFVOA 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm : For Association activities including Tombola and entertainment. 4.00 pm : Tea and Dispersal. Please Note 1. Similar to the earlier arrangements during Annual Picnics, breakfast, lunch, Tea, snacks and Packed Dinner have been catered for by the AFVOA. 2. The subsidised rate per head for catering arrangements has been fixed at Rs150/-. Children below5 years of age will not be charged. Kindly remit payment in advance by crossed cheque in favour of Armed Forces veteran Officers association and send to Col AKS. 3. Please intimate the details of your attendance- self, wife, children(with age) and guests and confirm by 1 Feb 2012 to enable placing firm orders on the caterer and for obtaining security clearances.
