ALLOTMENT OF A NEW VENUE FOR HOLDING AFVOA MEETINGS After discussions with the Offg GOC, it was decided that the AFVOA meetings will in future be held at the Sainik Institute next to the Fort Railway station. The previous meeting was held in the venue on 05 Nov2011.Many members found it convenient to commute by train. The location has adequate infra structural facility. ESTABLISHMENT OF A NEW OTA AT GAYA The OTA at Gaya is the second such Officers' Training Academy, after the OTA at Chennai. It began functioning wef July ' 11, with its first batch of officer-cadets. Functioning under Simla based Army Training Command (ARTRAC), the OTA was raised in record time of just one year. The Academy was officially inaugurated; by OAS during Nov 2011. MATTERS MEDICAL The problem of medical facilities for SSCOs and ECOs. The issue of extending medical facilities to released SSCOs and ECOs ( and other non- pensioner combatants ) is remaining unresolved, since more than a decade. Originally, with the sanction of President, AG's Br, Army HQ has issued instructions, based on which, these officers are entitled to receive outpatient treatment in Military Hospitals, on production of ' Medical Entitlement Cards ' issued to them. ( AO 10 / 97) In addition, these officers are entitled for reimbursement of 75 % cost of major surgeries, from Kendriya Sainik Boards (KSBs) provided he same is recommended by the MH concerned.
