MATTERS MILITARY NAVODHAYA-REVISION The Veteran members are aware of the useful publication “NAVODHYA” A guide for A Happy retired Life by the AFVOA in the year 2008.In fact many have complimented and are requesting for its revision incorporating the latest provisions and amendments. We propose to take up the revision work in the near future. Meanwhile, we request members to forward their ideas and recommendations and suggested material for incorporation to the Secretary AFVOA. Col TN Raman, by mail /post HELLO VETERANS 2009-UPDATION Like Navodhya, there is need for revision of the greater Chennai directory containing details of veteran military officers of Army, Navy and Air Force, settled in Chennai.There are several changes of addresses and Tele Nos and additions of new entrants and deletions. Our earlier experience indicates that this can be achieved with reasonable accuracy only with full cooperation and inputs from members. The AFVOA management requests members to forward the details under two heads to the Editor by mail/ post (a) Details of Rank and Name as you desire it to appear in the directory, decorations, Regiment/ Branch of Service along with complete Postal address, Tele and mobile contact no and Email ID’s. (b) Similar information of other veterans non -members as known to you, since the AFVOA has no means of finding out of the additions and deletions. ALLOTMENT OF 4 WHEELERS THROUGH CSD: The booking, allotment and purchase of 4 wheelers, through the CSD canteens had been withheld since some time due to certain constraints. It is understood that the restriction has been relaxed by the authorities. The interested veterans may contact the CSD depot. PUBLICATION OF BOOK - “Yes, Together We Can” Our spirited member, Capt Ravi Mahajan, Signals, has from his experiences of meeting and dealing with a variety of people, written an interesting book with the above title. He has dealt with basic life skills and wisdom, which is usually, not taught .Our compliments to Capt Ravi for his noble venture and we wish him all success in his endeavour to propagate knowledge. CHANGE OF GUARD We wish to inform the veterans about the following changes of Command that have taken place. (a) HQ ATNK&K Area- Lt Gen B K Chengappa, PVSM, AVSM relinquished command on retirement with effect from 31 Dec 2010 and Lt Gen Subroto Mitra, SM, VSM has assumed command wef22Oct 2011. AFVOA whole heartedly welcomes Lt Gen Marriage is like a flute. It may have several holes and emptiness. The same holes and emptiness gives beautiful and melodious tunes, if you know how!
