From the Editorial Team VETERAN AS THE ‘FIFTH PILLAR’ OF SOCIETY It is heartening to note that our Veteran fraternity is fast emerging as the Fifth Pillar of our rapidly changing society. Though the stirrings in this direction are of recent origin and though it is undeniable that this progression is occurring ever so slowly, for sure it has been steady. Thus the advancements taking place towards this emergence are obvious to every one and not just to those with discerning eyes. What gives hope to our country is the fact that the first three pillars are reasonably sound and are capable of bearing the weight of a demographically and societally changing nation. No doubt when we see the visuals on Lok Sabha TV we are reminded of our time in the Third Form (now eighth class) when the teacher was out. All the same when we look at the decisions that have emerged from that august hall we find that by and large the laws created therein have provided satisfactory direction to our country in an uncertain world. The same can be said of the Second Pillar, viz, judiciary. From time to time we
