Treasurer In addition to the above FOUR Members to be elected, THREE other committee Members as cur rently approved are nominated (coopted) to bring about more coherence into the committee to fulfi ll thrust act ivities as envisaged. Also in view of the broadening of the scope of activit ies in AFVOA and the increasing pressures in members’ domestic l ife patterns, arising out of geographical diversi ty, demography and their impact on volunteer ism in general, the present committee has recommended the addition of TWO officers to augment key support to the functioning of AFVOA, in the roles of JOINT SECRETARY and JOINT TREASURER. Whilst await ing formalizat ion of this recommendation into the election process, it is proposed to seek approval in the AGM on 28 Jun 2009, for cooption of these two members in the committee for the years 2010- 2011 . ELECTION PROCESS Maj Gen R Karthikeyan, our Immediate Past President, has kindly agreed to the request from the Executive Committee to function as the Electoral Off icer for the ensuing election. I have also the consent of three Senior Member Volunteers to function as members of the Elect ion Process Committee to assist the Electoral Officer in the conduct of the Electoral Process ensuring the discipl ine and ethics warranted. The election Process Committee consists of Veteran Members, Br ig SP Balachandran, Brig NB Subramanian and Col A Krishnaswami, VrC, VSM**. CALL FOR NOMINATIONS (prescribed form attached) All Nominat ions for election to the four posts of Off ice Bearers of the Committee (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) are invi ted on the prescr ibed Nominat ion Form duly Proposed, Seconded and Accepted by the Nominee for the post proposed f rom all Members (who have fulf il led the cr iter ia of being upto date in thei r subscript ions). Maj Gen R Karthikeyan has kindly consented to be the Electoral Off icer. The Nominations should reach Maj Gen R Karthikeyan, 10/W, Park Dugar Colony, Ramapuram, Chennai – 600 089 (Ph. 2249 1704, 2680 1934) on or before 5 pm on 20 Jun 2009. Nominations received after that date / time wil l not be entertained. Nominations are also invited for the two proposed posts of Joint Secretary, and Joint Treasurer and for the three Members on the Committee as current ly existing, in the same format as for the Nominations for the office bearers.
