Page 53 of 56 I have gone through “Navodhaya” which has very extensively given direction in finding answers to most of the day to day worries & problems which an ESM faces in his post retirement life on a daily basis. It is a commendable effort and surely would go a long way in making the ESM & their NOK face the travails of day to day existence more confidently. My congratulations to the whole team which has the welfare, safety and security of the community of ESM & their NOK uppermost in their minds. While congratulating the precious presentation of “Navodhaya” – the “Vade mecum” – which enlightens not only retired persons, but also senior citizens of all walks of life; I would like to share my views/suggestions which may further the usefulness of the book: The self assessment questionnaire intended for answering by the husband and spouse, may be given in the regional/vernacular language, so that the last grade Govt servants may also be able to follow – and one more column may also be included to be answered by the dependant progeny/children. The WILL chapter elaborates the types of WILL and the methods of execution of them, by the elderly people. The entire chapter on WILL will prove its worthiness and usefulness provided it is translated and transformed into regional languages. Health schemes:- Details of various health schemes, the speciality hospitals, referral clinics where specialized and specific treatments for various ailments such as bye pass surgery, eye care treatments, geriatric diseases, dental care, etc., may be furnished and lists of specialized medical institutions/hospitals may be incorporated for compliance. I record my deep appreciation of the book Navodhaya and the Editorial Board for the enchanting, excellent and educative book for the use of senior citizens.
