The Snow Ball has been car ri ed over . Obituary. 5. As i s cus tomary the meeting st art ed with our remembering the depart ed vet erans. (a) Rear Adm BA Samson, PVSM, IN passed away on 18 Mar 2008. Vet eran Coord of the obsequi es was Col A Krishnaswamy, VrC, VSM**. (b) Sqn Ldr KV Pill ai (100 yrs ) passed away at Chennai on 31 Mar 2008. Obsequies were coord by Ai r Force Associ ation, Tambaram Chapter. 6. Stop Press. Since our previous meeting the fol lowing had l eft our midst: - (a) Brig FD O’Leary, AVSM, AMC passed away on 14 Apr 2008. He was aged 86 years . Obsequies were coord by Capt Vij ayasarathy, IN of INS ADYAR. (b) Air Marshal BS Kri shna Rao, PVSM away on 25 Apr 2008. He was aged 92 years . Vet eran Coord of obsequi es was Gp Capt V Pal anisamy, Secret ary, Air Force Association, Tambaram Chapter. (c) Maj Gen MEA Krishnan, AVSM passed away on 26 Apr 2008. He was aged 80 yrs. Vet eran Coord for the obsequies was Lt Col LK Bhakthavatsulu. 7. A l arge number of emails expressing condol ences were received which were passed on to the next of kin. 8. Members of the AFVOA rose in unison to maint ain a minute’s sil ence and convey thei r heart felt condol ences to the bereaved family members. May the depart ed souls rest in peace. Honouring Octogenerians 9. During the Meeting we had the pr ivil ege of honoring Wg Cdr KPA Narayanan, VSM who i s 82 years of age and a land mark for Ai r Force personnel young and old. Wg Cdr KPA Narayanan, VSM (Retd), was born on 26 Feb 1925. Aft er early education in Chennai he joined the Indi a Met eorologi cal Department f rom where he was absorbed into the Royal Indi an Air Force in 1943. Aft er 37 years of glorious servi ce with the Ai r Force, he ret ired f rom Ai r Head Quart ers as Deputy Di rector Met Branch in Feb 1980. 10. In appreci ation of his sel fl ess servi ce and exempl ary work he was awarded the VSM in 1972. A unique thing i s that 25 years l at er his son was also awarded the VSM. 11. Aft er reti rement he was deeply involved in the activiti es of the Tamil
