A Martyr’s Note. Lt Parthiban, commissioned into 5 Jak Li from OTA, Chennai in Mar 2006 made the supreme sacrifice of his life on 07 Oct 2006 while fighting terrorists in CI Ops in J & K. Reproduced below is one of his last notes left in his diary. “Operation future” “ March ahead my noble soldier, as our safety rests on your shoulder. You live by chance and love by choice. Where there is nothing to rejoice. You have the heart to bear all pain. Moving through sun, snow and rain, yours is a breed that fights like a king. For you, it’s never a personal thing you are my role model without a question as you lead, protect and kill by profession. Be it a regular duty or a CI operation. With death always looming near, you keep vigil without fear. You are the one who lives for the country's name. Not caring for money, glamour or fame. You are the one- the leader of the game and I would like to become thesame. 36. Kirthi Chakra to Lt N Parthiban. Lt N Parthiban has been awarded the Kirthi Chakra (Posthumous) on the Republic Day 2007, for his bravery and devotion beyond call of duty. Government of Tamil Nadu, in a fitting tribute has renamed the erstwhile Anakaputhur Road as Lieutenant Parthiban Road in honour of the Officer. Amreena Judie, MBBS on 23 Jan 2007 at Pondicherry. (b) Lt & Mrs KA Rajagopalan celebrated the wedding of their grandson, Mr. Sidanth with Miss. Neha on 28 Jan 2007 at New Delhi. (c) Mr. Karthik, son of Late Lt Col V S Rajan and Mrs. Chitra Rajan, married Miss. Akhila on 31 Jan 2007 at Bangalore. All the three weddings were attended by a large number of friends and relatives.
