Our team wishes to thank every one of you for the unstinted cooperation that we received. You appreciated our efforts and encouraged us to continue with our attempts to keep you all informed about the activities of the AFVOA and the “Service” news. We on our part had put our best foot forward towards bringing out the “Newsletter” regularly. We had adopted a “Theme” for every issue and attempted to promote it through the editorial. 2. Most of us” Veterans” are senior citizens and have greatly matured with our long service and experience in life. We all can therefore, certainly claim to be “ Considerate, Understanding and Patient ” (“C.U.P”) .We have several virtues to be passed on to the younger generation. We must, through our “ Thought, Action and Behavior ”(“T.A.B”), convey useful lessons. In this issue of the newsletter we will amplify one such virtue, “ Humility ” as an example. 3. We all are proud of some of our achievements in our career. If one has achieved anything commendable during one’s lifetime, it is for others to realize it and praise the achievement. One should never demand respect and recognition but obtain it spontaneously. During our last meeting on 11 March 2007, we had an opportunity to honour Vice Admiral (Retd) B.A. Samson PVSM, an illustrious Nonagenarian and two other octogenarian Veterans. All of them obtained respect from the fraternity of AFVOA as our senior colleagues. Admiral Samson’s brief talk during the function was heard by all of us with rapt attention and in pin drop silence. It was our way of conveying regards and respect to the elders.
