Recently, we witnessed the State assembly elections in many parts of our country. In some States, it was a bitter fight and the electoral battles caused concern too. There were disappointments for many and the losers cried foul, as not all the winners purportedly won the elections by fair means. Election promises were some time bizarre and ridiculous and we wondered how these could be kept, with all the financial crunches!! 2. Let us take our mind away from the system of elections in the States and compare it with our own elections in AFVOA. What a difference! How very clean, transparent, efficient and dignified are our election procedures! Our office bearers were all unanimously elected without a whimper from the well attended General Body. The Incoming Team took over in a simple ceremony. The Outgoing Team shook hands to wish the new entrants good luck and requested them to assume their erstwhile chairs, to the thunderous applause from the General Body. We ought to be proud of our simplicity, sobriety, ethos and our camaraderie. 3. The editorial team wishes the new Executive Committee, all the very best and is confident that there will be no let up in the pace of our ongoing and intended projects. Our kudos to the Outgoing Team for their valuable contributions in the last two years. We also compliment the team for holding office for the first time, for a period of two years and thereby creating history for the AFVOA. We are sure that the future committees too, would continue this tradition.
