The Patron spoke briefly highlighting the achievements of the AFVOA over the past 11 years and thanked all the Executive Committees and Members for their co-operation and dedication due to which the Association had grown from strength to strength. While wishing all the Members a very happy 11 th Anniversary he reminded them that the Executive Committees do function voluntarily despite very many constraints. He said that the achievements have been enormous but the tasks ahead were immense and needed a concerted effort on the part of everyone to attain these. 22. Cake cutting. The Secretary announced that the 11 th Anniversary cake cutting would follow and requested Mrs. Sundara Rao to do the honours. Mrs. Vatsala Subramanian was kind enough to organize the event and helped Mrs. Sundara Rao in cutting the cake and distributing the same to all the Members. 23. Announcements. While the cake pieces were being distributed to all the Members, the Secretary made the following announcements:- (a) Contributions for the Newsletter. Members were requested to contribute inputs for the Newsletter like Regimental news, Job opportunities, Personnel occurrences, etc for circulation. (b) Subscriptions & Receipts. He requested all those who had not paid their subscriptions for the year 2005-06 to do so and collect the receipts before leaving the venue from Col N Viswanathan. “Old age isn’t so bad when you consider the alternative”. ~Maurice Chevalier Matters Military 24.
