The Secretary read out the Agenda for the AGM and requested the Patron to deliver his inaugural address. 12. Patron’s Inaugural Address . Lt Gen C Sundara Rao highlighted the achievements of the Association and the constraints under which the Executive Committee had been functioning. The present Executive Committee has been asked to continue for one more year in accordance with the Bye Laws. He was fully satisfied with the performance of the present Executive Committee and commended their performance during the year. He expressed his hope and desire that everyone participates actively in the proceedings of the AGM. 13. President’s Welcome Address . Maj Gen C Govindaswamy expressed his gratitude to the two Senior Veterans, Lt Gen C Sundara Rao and Maj Gen Aban Naidu for their mature advice and guidance that they accord. The Members of the Executive Committee were complimented for their unstinted support and selfless service. The painstaking effort by the Immediate Past President and Secretary for enabling the Executive Committee to carry on with ease was laudable. Similarly, the efforts taken by the Editorial Team of the Newsletter to collate all the information and making it an interesting reading material was greatly appreciated. The meeting scheduled for the day was a landmark achievement, in the sense that it was being held after completion of the first full year in office by the present Executive Committee. He thanked the members present, who had come in large numbers to attend the meeting. The President also thanked the GOC, ATNK&K Area for making the Palm Grove Institute shed available to us for holding our meeting in the pristine service environment. He also extolled the veterans to join the Palm grove Institute as members and make use of the excellent facilities being provided therein. 14 Secretary’s Annual Report . The Annual Report giving out the details of the activities carried out by the Association during the preceding year was read out. The Report was proposed to be passed by Gp Capt J Sivaraman and seconded by Lt Col G Varadarajan. 15. Treasurer’s Report . The Treasurer gave a lucid presentation of the state of Accounts indicating the Receipts and Expenditure of the preceding year. The Fund position was healthy and has been audited by the Chartered Accountant to the entire satisfaction of the Executive Committee. The Accounts Statement was proposed to be passed by Lt Col M Narayanan and seconded by Mr. KA Rajagopalan, IPS. 16. Appointment of Auditors . The present Chartered Accountants, M/s Bhaskaran & Ramesh have carried out their responsibility with diligence and therefore the Treasurer sought the approval of the General Body to appoint them for the current. The approval was proposed to be passed by Mr. KA Rajagopalan, IPS and seconded by Major HS Sandhu. 17. Amendments to Bye Laws . Maj Gen R Karthikeyan, as the Chairperson of the Bye Laws Review Sub Committee stated that there were only four observations received from Members and they had been examined The details of the observations and decisions are given below for ratification by the General Body:- (a) Brig S Rajagopalan suggested that Para 13.7.2 should read as ‘Members’ instead of ‘Ordinary Members’ - Proposal accepted . (b) Lt Col R Subramanian suggested the following:- (i) Renumbering of Paras IV to VII as V to VIII. – Proposal accepted. (ii) Re-election of Members to the Committee should not be permitted as a rule except in cases where yeomen service recognized by three fourths of the
