After enduring the blistering heat and oppressive humidity during the months of June, July and August, we were eagerly waiting for the soothing touch of the rains. The rain God did oblige and we had a few welcome showers. It was a “ COOL GREETING ” after a “ WARM WEATHER ”. Hope the shortages of our water reservoirs are partially met to overcome the difficulty of supplying drinking water to our parched water taps! 2. Our last issue of the newsletter was the ‘first’ attempt of the new team. Perhaps, you have chosen to remain ‘silent’ about our efforts and the verdict of the final product. After all you do not wish to jump to conclusions, right after our first effort and may like to “ wait and watch ”. We would continue with our endeavour to live up to your expectations and attempt to keep you informed of all important matters. The newsletter is brought out every time with a spirit of “ continuous improvement ”. 3. This publication is meant exclusively for our use and therefore, we would include in it, what we perceive as “ common good ”, for the members of the AFVOA. Contributions from members are welcome. Even if it were to be a joke or a personal experience let it bring laughter and make us feel light-hearted 4. The month of August is significant. It heralds our AFVOA entering “ the twelfth year ” on 07 August 2005. “Down memory lane” is an article that has been included to highlight our past and offer our silent prayer for a bright future.
