Members are requested to pay a nominal amount of Rs 50.00 per head as contribution towards defraying the cost of catering. The amount may please be sent in advance, directly to the Treasurer at the address given at the end of the Newsletter. Nevertheless, the Organizing Committee requests Members to phone in their confirmations to the following positively by Wednesday the 27 th April 2005, so as to ensure adequate catering for all the members confirming attendance. It may please be noted that this is the first meeting of the present subscription year. All members are requested to kindly pay in the amount on receipt of this Newsletter. Your cooperation in this regard will be highly appreciated. Absentees 43. A point about the last Meeting, which regrettably, we are constrained to mention, is that a number of veterans (eleven members) had confirmed that they would attend the Meet, but eventually did not turn up. It is another matter that some other members (nine) landed up unannounced and somehow the dinner part of the Meet was managed without a hitch. At this point it is worth mentioning that this is a perennial problem. It may also be appreciated that due to veterans arriving unannounced, quite often the members of the Organising Committee and others who have paid, but did not pick up their plates earlier, have to go without dinner! In view of this, members may suggest methods of overcoming this point regarding confirmation and not landing up/not confirming and landing up. (In this connection suggestions were also mooted in the Newsletter No 5/2002., paragraphs 20 and 21 on page 10 refers) Annual General Meeting 44. The Annual General Meeting will take place during the month of Jun 2005. Firm date, time and location will be intimated during the bi-monthly meeting on 01 May 2005.
