Managing Director Associate Banks of State Bank of India AND All Nationalised Banks (As per the list) Dear Sir, Receipt of Contribution Under Ex- Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme(ECHS) ------------------------------------------------------------------ Government of India has since sanctioned an Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) for Defence Pensioners vide its orders No.22(l)/01/US(WE)/D(Res) dated December 30, 2002 and April 1, 2003. 2. In this context, we have been advised by Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs, Banking Division, New Delhi that the branches of all Nationalised Banks including State Bank of India & its Associate Banks and Reserve Bank of India dealing with Defence transactions may be authorised to accept contribution towards ECHS from Defence Pensioners for making one time contribution.
