About the Author Wing Commander Raju Srinivasan was commissioned in 1980 and served in various operational helicopter units in J&K, NE and in the Air HQ (VIP) Comn Sqn. He commanded a Helicopter Unit and served as DS for four courses in DSSC before taking premature retirement in Dec 2002. Post Service retirement, he was a core member of the team which set up India's first Low Cost Carrier airline, Air Deccan in 2003. Later, he set up another LCC, Go Air (now rechristened as Go First) in 2005. He is settled in Coimbatore. His wife, Pankaja, is a Journalist. Their son, Sashank, is a Squadron Leader in the IAF and daughter, Sudarshana, is working in an Educational NGO in Gurugram
