Before I sign off I would like to list down a few points which according to me are the reasons for the success of this team: • Well defined responsibilities. • Open and healthy discussion within the committee members on all matters of AFVOA. • Full freedom to express ones views and air ones dissent too. • Decisions taken are by consensus and if there is any difference of opinion, the views of the majority stays. • No animosity within the team. • All communication only through Secretary. No other office bearer would send a group mail or message or correspond with outside agencies or members directly. • Comfort level of working as Team. • The Team’s readiness to own collective responsibility for any unintended acts of omission and commission by a member. • Willing to take on challenges, open to ideas and positive approach to all issues. • Leadership plays a big role in the success of Team effort. A leadership that places total trust, faith and ownership on its followers can turn sand into gold. And in double quick time. Take Away For Team Vartha Some of the few take away for us in the last twenty odd months are: • The average age of our team is 65+. Age is no barrier to learn new things. • Over the last two years our learning curve just shot up northwards. • Technology looks behemoth. Initially it may be overwhelming but with patience any Technology can be mastered. • Innovation and new ideas are possible with an open mind.
