What a family we make once we wear that most coveted uniform? Only those who have had this privilege can understand. Note : Major General D. P. Bahl was commissioned in the Regiment of Artillery in 1955. A graduate of the Indian Military Academy (IMA), he completed 35 years of distinguished service in the Indian Army. He fought in the 1965 and 1971 wars and retired as the Major General (Arty) AD, Western Command in 1990. DP, as he is fondly known to his friends and family, was a very keen writer, photographer, and artist (pencil sketch, watercolour, oils). After his retirement, he served on the board of companies as a Director and immersed himself in learning computer skills which he used to help local schools. He passed away in 2010 leaving behind his wife Mrs Nishi Bahl and 2 daughters. About the Author Mrs. Nishi Bahl is an educationist, artist, author, filmmaker, aviator & culinary enthusiast. She authored a book "Yashodhara - The Princess of Kapilavastu", under her pen name Nishi Deep, which has been published in India (Amazon, Flipkart) and in the US and UK (Amazon). Mrs. Bahl has directed and produced 2 children's films. She did her first solo flight in April 1960 and obtained a Private Pilot's License. Her favourite aircraft is the Tiger Moth. As an educationist, she was associated with the National Bal Bhavan, funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. She retired as the Head Mistress of a school in Dehradun.
