AFVOA Newletter August 2020
Section 7- From the Archives CV 2 No. 02 / 2020 Page 234 of 237 grants concessions and benefits, Guidelines for safe investments and a chapter on LEARNING TO LIVE ALONE. Appendices with requisite forms to be filled were included to help the Members. The typed document with the draft Foreword, Publishers and Compilers note had all been compiled and handed over to the President and was awaiting clearance to enable forwarding to the printers for publishing. The Clearance of the Manuscript did not come at all as the existing hand out on the subject was found to be adequate and no further publication was necessary. In the Armed Forces, we all are used to such decisions. After the discussion stage where everyone is allowed to present the views, the Commander decides. There is no discussion after that. No cribs and sulking, as it is the head that wears the crown. Muthu and his team took it stoically as if nothing happened. The present write up on LEST WE FORGET is a record of the various happenings. (Wg Cdr Muthu is no more amidst us and the Manuscript is available) It will be interesting for members to note that Six years later the project was revived and a new and colourful publication was brought out on the same subject. Literally speaking, after the “SURYA ASTHAMAN” the SUN had risen again and brought in” NAVODHAYA” to bring brightness. (Details on this later.) Meetings on 16 June, 11 Aug, 6 Oct, and the picnic meet at Camp Gloria on 22 Dec2002 The proceedings of the meetings on the above dates are covered in our Newsletters 4, 5 and 6 of 2002 and 1 of 2003.
