The meeting was very useful as it was an interactive session and a large number of members had a variety of questions and the time allotment had to be increased by cancelling the much liked Tombola event. Maj Gen RPRC Naidu our president thanked the guest speakers and the audience for their participation and hoped that there would be greater exchange of information between the husband and wife on matters “Financial” for mutual benefit. Honouring the Elderly Based on the decision taken regarding the honouring the senior veterans in the station above the age of 85years, invitations were sent to all the identified veterans. However during the meeting on 21 Aug 2001 only Rear Admiral KR Nair PVSM could make it and he was welcomed and honoured with the draping of the PONNADI by the President. The Admiral thanked the Patron, President and the members for honouring him and for the sumptuous lunch. Interaction between Serving and Retired officers. To enhance interaction of our members with the local Inter Services organizations, it was decided to invite serving officers to partake in our regular meetings, as it would help in updating knowledge regarding current orders and instructions. Scope of the Newsletter - The aspirations and demands from the members increased reflecting a healthy sign of participation. The inclusion of information for the benefit of the retired fraternity, requests for matrimonial alliances for Service children, Ladies corner for highlighting their talents in writing, painting, culinary art, health and fitness and such other topics as well as Letters to the Editor. Contributions of articles of interest would be included in the future Newsletters. A request was made to such members who are gainfully employed in business to kindly sponsor the issues of the Newsletter. The names of sponsors would be gratefully acknowledged in the Newsletter. Meeting on 14 Oct 2001 Those who attended it will remember this meeting at the Youth Hostel. Some fine and distinguishing character traits of the fraternity like Camaraderie, Enthusiasm and Spontaneity were not only visible but felt by all members. The meeting was in full swing.
