Section 5 - Memoirs CV 2 No. 02 / 2020 Page 136 of 237 Even to this day my father’s thought process has been that it is always easy to play for Indian Team but very difficult to play in the Services XI ; I could not grasp & understand this concept as at younger age , with gradually maturing over the years on the subject I was in firm agreement to what he endorses, but even to this day he regrets why he did not get an opportunity to play for India and wear the Indian Blazer. Probably God’s wishes & desire and plan of action is/was always unknown but it proved a very fertile , well accepted and endorsed, it is only a thinking beyond the Horizon, probably if he would have joined the Mahindra & Mahindra other major clubs like East Bengal probably he would be off very well, professionally but not personally!! CONCLUSION I need to submit my humble salutations to Col Pillai of MRC, then commanding officer whose photo is on the right above sitting in the centre whose decision was right wisdom at that time , it was beneficial for for both MRC as an organisation and personally for my father he finally retired as Hony Captain on superannuation . My Father Was Indeed Fortunate To Have Received Several Awards , Accolades and Achievements The MRC has been like a light house to illuminate the spirit of success of my father and on behalf of him I extend my greetings and wishes for all success to every one of MRC and may I pray MRC reach greater heights and be blessed with lot of awards/recognitions in the years to follow ahead “ THE VEER MADRASI ADI KOLLU ADI KOLLU” WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR EVER . About the Author Wg Cdr D Gurunath Reddy was commissioned on 06 Mar 1989 in the Aeronautical Branch of IAF. He is an Electronics Engineer and is a Post Graduate in Management from I I T Kharagpur. In IAF he has served as Senior Technical Officer in various front line Jaguar squadrons and has been part of the digital upgradation of SAGM systems. He also took part in Operation. Vijay & Operation Parakram. He took pre-mature retirement in Jan 2012. Post retirement he has worked in Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd at Hyderabad and Korwa. He is presently working with Chennai Metro Rail Ltd as Additional General Manager (Contract Procurement). His hobbies include Yoga and Painting.
