After the guests had settled down Col Bhupinder Singh the master of ceremony commenced the show by welcoming all present and gave a gist of the AFVOA history since its raising. This was followed by the entertainment program which was organised by Veteran Sqn Ldr Unni and Team. The program had really set the tone which was made even more charged up with the regular flow of delicious snacks and spirited beverages. Silver Jubilee Cake was cut to mark the occasion. This was done by the Patron, Sr Veterans and ladies. Release of Hello Veterans, a much-awaited telephone directory “Hello Veterans 2019” was then released by the Patron. The highlight of the program was honouring the Decorated Veterans and the Veer Naris. The following Veterans and Veer Naris were honoured and presented the mementos: - Gallantry Medal Awardees a) Sqn Ldr V Nagarajan, KC b) Maj AK Chandok, KC c) Col A Krishnaswamy, VrC, VSM* d) Air Marshal PM Ramachandran, PVSM, AVSM, SC, VM e) R Admiral Ramsagar, AVSM, Vrc f) Col Samuel Raj, Battle Casualty. Veer Naris a) Mrs Lalitha Alexander b) Mrs Shoba c) Mrs Vedavali Naik. Honouring the Nonagenarians a) Lt Gen Sundara Rao, PVSM b) Wg Cdr Ramadurai V. Contributed Rs 5000/to the AFVOA Corpus. Honouring the Special Invitees a) Mr George Thomas, Camp Gloria. b) Mr Naresh, our caterer for the past 25 years for his dedicated services. The Patron’s address was displayed on the AV Screen. He appreciated the efforts of the all the past presidents, members, ladies and the consecutive executive committees for their dedicated efforts and commitment to nurture AFVOA. The Association had blossomed beautifully and is well-well-known in Chennai amongst the Veterans. He complimented the EC for conducting the Silver Jubilee Celebrations in an outstanding manner.
