Section 2 - News / Updates from the Association Newsletter No. 1 / 2020 P a g e 16 | 101 Bi-Monthly Meeting – 17 Nov 2019 Type of Meeting Bi-monthly Date 17 Nov 2019 Time of Assembly 10: 30 AM Venue PGAOI Highlight sThe highlight of the meeting was the musical performance by SARGAM CHOIR lead by its Director Dr Sudha. This choir group consisted of 18 ladies, 4 gents and 4 young boys. They enthralled the audience with a variety of songs in various Indian languages for 45 minutes. Their performance was well received by all those present who gave them a standing ovation. Summary of the Meeting  The meeting was well attended with close to 125 members and spouses being present. (A record by itself.)  We also had two rounds of Tambola which was as usual well conducted by Brig V A Subramanyam and his team.  This was the first meeting held after the Silver Jubilee celebrations of our association and Col A Krishnaswamy took it upon himself to distribute the Silver Jubilee Mugs and Hello Veterans Directory to all members. A herculean task which he did singlehandedly in his usual friendly demeanour and style.  Seven new members were inducted into our association in this meeting.  President then addressed the gathering and briefed them on the plans of the new committee for conducting various visits and meetings in the year to come.  The meeting finished off with a sumptuous lunch which was catered for by our long-standing caterer Mr Naresh and his team. This Bi-Monthly meeting was beautifully summed up by our member Mrs Premilla Rajan in her own words as “ A delightful morning where friends no longer nimble could meet and go back in time! Great friendliness, a spirit of warmth and joy pervaded the venue. Most veterans are no longer able to take on rigorous outings; so evidently such meets enhance the beauty of friendship and bonding! Services camaraderie, was very much in evidence!”
