Page 8 of 9 VARIOUSMATTERS OF INTEREST There are various matters of interest concerning veterans which we read about in the print and visual media. These relate to OROP, ECHS, 7 th Pay Commission, National War Memorial and honouring our battle casualties. Although some matters are of interest to us, we do not get involved as an Organisation. Individual opinions are no doubt in circulation. I am attaching a mail received from Col Clarence regarding the Fauji India Magazine. We do recommend maximum subscription to this magazine which has veterans interests in mind. “Dear Veterans, I have just received the Dec edition of Fauji India Magazine.lt is very informative and shaping well. Mr Maroof Raza and Capt Prasoon Kumar are steering the magazine well. I understand that complimentary copies are being distributed to PM, MPs,Politicians, Service HQs, Beurocrats, leading intellectuals, business Icons, CGDA ,PCDA(P)/(O) etc to create awareness about our problems. This is being well received and receiving proper attention at all levels incl PM.This is a very good platform for airing your grievances, giving suggestions and showing your writing talent. In fact my grievances against ECHS has appeared in the letters to the Editor column and receiving proper attention.(Copy trailing)There was a call from Veteran HQ ,ND, asking for clarifications on the matter. The GOC of ATNK&K Area was the Chief Guest. Approximately 180 veterans, serving officers of PGOI and families attended. Sqn Ldr Unni Nair took on a spectacular entertainment show. Despite the heavy rain, the evening was electrifying. Our Patron attended the evening and enjoyed the same. His mail below is self explanatory.
