Do check and let us know your email id and ask for a test mail. Since most of our members have mobile phones please do give us your mobile phone numbers that we can use to send you text messages. As an organization, let us be part of the green initiative and minimize our paper usage, relying more and more on electronic communications. In my various interactions with the Area HQ as also the Station HQ, I have experienced very positive signals from the serving community. They are ready to go that extra mile to be with us and hold our hand when we need them. They are all very conscious of the fact that very soon they will be part of us. They will remain supportive of all our plans and programs. Let us rest assured on this. CT CHARI From your Editor Our Association is growing in strength and stature, Our membership strength as of date is 273. The distribution being, Army-198, Navy-14, AirForce-36 and Lady members-25. We are also slowly becoming tech savvy the indication being that, as of now over 200 members are Email connected. As one of the founder members, your editor and a few diehard and optimistic members who were thrilled on our first meeting on 7 August 1994, when the number was only 20, are delighted at the progress we have made. It was initially Army with 18members, the Navy and the Air Force with a member each. All of us were, and still are, very proud that we as an association are maintaining the Inter Services bond very successfully. We are sure that the camaraderie will further grow in the years to come. The respect and recognition that the association enjoys amongst the three service formations is well known. Maintaining that position amongst the serving fraternity largely depends on the role we play, our conduct, cooperation and the respect we accord. Having gone through the service life we appreciate the constraints and if we notice any deficiency, we should be magnanimous to condone and not be critical. In this context, I humbly submit that we all have the right to hold our opinion. The problem arises when we share our viewpoint in public through the medium of the AFVOA group mail giving the impression that every member holds the same view. Why not limit the number of addresses to those who share your views and the BCC facility in the computer is used to avoid the disclosure of your views to one and all. I will leave it to the good sense of the few energetic, enthusiastic and vociferous members who adopt the group mail route for expression of their anguish. We can all agree to disagree and carry on with the best interest of the Association. Let us not censor the views but appeal for adopting restrain We all know that hitting below the belt should neither be adopted in our writing nor should be suggested by innuendo. We all are friends and have voluntarily chosen to become members to enjoy and cherish our past. Some amongst us chose to serve the association and are doing their best to reach our satisfaction level. We must assist them in the process and volunteer to take on the load and spread cheer and happiness all around. Let us jointly build this unique experiment that we have nurtured for almost18 years. We have come a long way, and we have many more to go. Let us join hands and press on. Well Done AFVOA Krish
