Inauguration of Golden Palm School On a 10-acre plot at a cost of nearly 9 crore rupees a beautiful school has been created at St Thomas Mount near MH Chennai. The school has been started with a corpus of Rs. 2 crores with the Area HQ and Station HQ putting in one each. The GOC inaugurated the school on 26 May 2009. During the event he stated that the need for a good school for those coming to the Station has been addressed. Through out the year five vacancies would be retained in each class to enable admission of Army children at any time. The school is now fully staffed and admissions are on upto VII Standard. The academic year is slated to commence on 06 Jul 2009.
