Our picnic on 08 January 2006 enabled our Members to personally greet each other for the happy occasion of “Christmas and New Year” that were celebrated a few days prior to the event, and also for the forthcoming ‘Pongal’, ‘Lohri’ and ‘Makara Sankranthi’ functions that were a few days away. The annual picnic attracted a large gathering. This was like the barometric evidence for the popularity, large expectations and the immense desire of the members to have a wonderful day out. No doubt the event turned out to be a tremendous success and there was a feeling of great relief for the organizing committee. They had faced a challenging task with confidence, and the stress that they underwent, was rewarded by the smiles of approval and the gratitude that the Members expressed after the event. The word had spread and congratulatory calls were received. 2. We are basing our “Editorial” on the subject “Are we all doing our bit”? - a question for which the answer is with us alone. Let us analyse this in an honest manner; after all, our Association has adopted the spirit “One for all and all for one”. We may like to ask a few questions to ourselves, (a) Are we useful members for the AFVOA? If so, how do we promote it further? (b) Are we helping the executive committee of the AFVOA in running the organization smoothly?
