Please see details at Para 57of this Newsletter. From The Editorial Team AFVOA- AN APPRAISAL Dear Veterans, 1. The editorial team is proud to enumerate the progress of AFVOA for the year 2005- 2006. We would avoid “ Drum Beating”, but would include the major aspects. In a nutshell, we can with conviction and satisfaction say, that our growth and progress over the years have no doubt been praise worthy. “ Coming together was the beginning Keeping together is indeed progress Working together is no doubt a success ” 2. Today we have over 250 members on our rolls. We are proud of this fact. Our members have faith in our association that is based on performance, achievements, selfless service and the clout we enjoy with the service formations in Chennai. The nomenclature of “VETERANS” that we adopted in the year 2000 instead of “ex-servicemen” has found favorable acceptance at the Adjutant General Army HQ level. This has been issued as a new policy directive. Now the“ Ex-Servicemen” will be termed as “ Veterans ” across the board. 3.
