Page 99 of 153 Question: What is the truest definition of Globalization? Answer: Princess Diana’s death. Question: Why? Answer: An English princess with an Egyptian boyfriend crashes in a French tunnel, driving a German car with a Dutch engine, driven by a Belgian who was drunk on Scottish whisky, (check the bottle before you change the spelling) followed closely by Italian Paparazzi, on Japanese motorcycles; treated by an American doctor, using Brazilian medicines. I am Fine Thank you There is nothing the matter with me, I’m as healthy as I can be, I have arthritis in both my knees, And when I talk, I talk with a wheeze, My pulse is weak and my blood is thin, But I’m awfully well for the shape I’m in. My real problem is that my “get up and go”, Got up and went, but before going He winked and whispered in my ear, Don’t tell people some of the places You and I have been to! Arch supports I have for my feet Or I wouldn’t be able to walk in the street, Sleep is denied me night after night, But every morning I find I’m all right. My memory is failing, my head’s in a spin, But I’m awfully well for the shape I’m in. Old age is golden. I’ve heard it said, But sometimes I wonder, as I get into bed, With my ears in a drawer, my teeth in a cup, My eyes on the table until I wake up. Ere sleep comes o’er me, I say to myself: “Is there anything else I should lay on the shelf?” I come down in the morning and dust off my wits, Pick up the paper and read the ‘Obits”. If my name is still missing, I know I’m not dead, So I have a good breakfast and go back to bed. The moral is this, as this tale I unfold, That for you and me who are growing old, It’s better to say, “I’m fine”, with a grin, Than let folks know the real shape I’m in. ~ Unknown (Courtesy Col A Krishnaswami, VrC, VSM**)
