It may be noted that the cost of the Smart Card has to be paid in advance to the ECHS. The cost of each Smart Card is Rs 90.00. Thus in case the member needs one card for himself, and another for his spouse, he has to pay for two Smart Cards – that is Rs 180.00. This amount has to be paid by means of crossed Demand Draft/Pay Order in favour of “Regional Centre ECHS” payable at Chennai. This DD/Pay Order should be deposited alongwith the rest of the forms accompanying the application. In case of officers who have already deposited the application forms, they need to pay this amount when they collect the Smart Cards. Re-appeal 23. Cdr SR Prasad made an appeal that is not new to our ears, for every Secretary of the AFVOA has made the same appeal at least once every meeting. He appealed to members to kindly do let the Committee know at least 24-48 hours in advance of a meeting of their attendance or non-attendance. The issue is that the quality of the response to this appeal has a direct bearing on the quality of the dinner that is served at our meetings.
