We have now come to the month of December, which is the last month of this year. Hence this will be the last issue of the Newsletter for this calendar year. A few days from now, a number of newspapers and magazines will be reviewing the events that occurred during the current year. In our case, some of the significant highlights of the year have been - the registering the Association and the release of the second edition of ‘Hello Veterans’ – a feat of no mean magnitude. 2. We need to take stock of our achievements during the decade of our existence and plan for the next decade. At this juncture, it is worth remembering that the progress of technology during the last century has been far greater than what occurred in the previous nineteen centuries Constraints of accommodation should not hamper our thinking big or taking on community oriented projects, which will make us not only more visible but give us far greater enjoyment and satisfaction of having contributed our mite in making this a better society. We should remember that as veterans, we have abundant knowledge and experience which should be able to overcome any hurdles - seen and unseen - to achieve our goals however big it may appear. We are carrying an article about Dennis Walters, who had such a passion for playing golf, that even after he became a paraplegic, he designed a special chair to enable him to continue to play golf, in spite of his disability. This only goes to show that there is no limit to human achievement, providing we have the attitude, will and determination – which we believe that all soldiers have in large measure.
