Page 10 of 153 – Maj Anand Shankar, AMC is posted. A Memoir 31. Brig Parthasarathy was commissioned into the Corps of Signals as a Technical Graduate entry officer during December 1962. He was a graduate from the Madras Institute of Technology, Chromepet, Chennai. While in the Army, he furthered his studies, by completing both M Tech and MBA. During his service, he served as an instructor in MCTE, Mhow, and later commanded the 4 Corps Signal Regiment and then served in the Signal Intelligence Organisation from where he retired. Post retirement, he was the CEO of Coimbatore Stock Exchange, and then moved to Chennai. Whilst staying in Parameswaran Vihar, he joined the Association. Shortly after, when his vibrant wife – Raji and he were traveling by road to attend a wedding out of Chennai, the vehicle met with an accident, in which he lost his wife, whilst he suffered grievous injuries. That was just about four years ago – the beginning of the year 2000. Partha was hospitalised at Command Hospital, Pune, where he underwent treatment for his multiple injuries. His daughter Madhu was with her husband Maj Anand, who at that time was doing his specialization at AFMC, Pune. Parthas have a son – again Dr Anand, who has specialized as an eye specialist and was working in Hyderabad. Partha was a dedicated officer, and an excellent human being, whom I was fortunate to know for over three decades. May His Soul Rest in Peace.
